The season is less than a week away, so it is time to make some predictions.
Last year I finished at 144-76 for the year with about 65.8 percent correct.
AFC East – The New England Patriots Did you really think I would pick anyone else? I chose New England because everyone else in the division is awful. Once again no other team in the AFC East will make the playoffs.
AFC North – I’ll take Pittsburgh The Steelers didn’t make the playoffs last year. I doubt that will happen 2 years in a row. The organization is just too strong.
AFC South – Houston Texans Every year I expect big things out of Houston. Last year at least they showed life.
AFC West – Denver Broncos I will not give up on Peyton Manning until he retires. He continues to amaze and now has Wes Welker on his team.
AFC Wildcard Teams – Indianapolis and Baltimore No big surprises.
NFC East – Washington Redskins If Robert Griffin III is healthy, he will dominate the division. End of story.
NFC North – Green Bay Packers This is another team I always think will win it all and am disappointed. Aaron Rogers is still peaking and this team may reach its potential.
NFC South – New Orleans Saints Drew Brees can still put up big numbers. There were a lot of problems last year. Hopefully, they are resolved.
NFC West – San Francisco 49ers They were the surprise of the year last year. No one will see them as a surprise this year.
NFC Wildcard teams – New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks
AFC Division Title game – Houston at Denver I’m sticking with Manning to win this game as well.
NFC Division Title game – Green Bay and San Francisco Sound familiar?
Superbowl Match-up – Denver and Green Bay.
Champion – I’m taking Denver to win 38-31. I just don’t see a flaw in the team anywhere at this point.
Sept. 5 Opening game of the season score Denver 38, Baltimore 20.
