Editor’s Note 12-7-2012

It has come to my attention that many employees at City Hall would like to speak to me about what is happening at the mayor’s office or in City Hall itself, but fear retribution. Anyone who wants to speak to me, can send me an email at nbcityjournal@yahoo.com. It can be made public or kept confidential or even off the record if you wish. It will only be opened by me. Or send me a note at New Britain City Journal, PO Box 2111, New Britain, CT 06050. I can also be called at 860-505-7612.

It’s a shame it has come down to that way of communicating and I am thankful to those who have already reached out to me so far. I am doing my best to work on all your issues because helping residents is the right thing to do. I will never stop fighting for what is right. Making New Britain a better place to live is my only goal.

This week’s paper is full of good news. We have several new correspondents who will be writing a variety of things. One you may see on a more regular basis is Joe LaRosa. LaRosa has years of experience and is a welcome addition to our paper.

Did you notice the group savenewbritain.com is giving free Santa Claus photos? You can get a free 8 by 10 inch photo before Christmas. See page 3 for the full story.

Two groups seem to be going far in their fields this week. Both the Junior Hurricane Cheerleaders and the Slade School Robotic team have been awarded for their talents. Be sure to read them on page 3 and page 6. I am so excited when our youth do great things.

There are a lot of great features this week. As usual, I love this week’s paper. Okay, so I say that every week. I can’t help it.

I also want to remind you that our ornaments in the paper special ad section is happening again this year. For $10 you can get your name and a very short message on an ornament in the paper Dec. 21. It’s a fun thing you can do for yourself or someone else. It also helps support the paper. Advertisements and these small ads help keep the paper free.

Many people tell me their favorite part of the paper is my joke of the week. Each week I try to find something funny from Facebook. This one is for people like me that wish they were a bit taller.

“Short people: God only lets things grow until they’re perfect. Some people take longer than others.”

It sounds good anyway. LOL!

Until next week, stop growing cause its okay to be short and keep reading YOUR #1 Weekly Newspaper!
