Charity Golf Event to Benefit New Britain-Area War Veterans
A charity golf event benefitting two New Britain-area veterans causes, hosted by the Northwestern Veterans, T.G.M. Memorial Post in New Britain, is seeking players, sponsors and supporters.
The Golden Kielbasa Veterans Open will take place Saturday, Oct. 1 at Timberlin Golf Club in Berlin. All proceeds from the event will support the Hardware City Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (Chapter 8), as well as the procurement, in cooperation with the City of New Britain’s Parks & Recreation Department, of American flags for gravesite display on Veterans Day and Memorial Day in the Veterans Section of historic Fairview Cemetery in New Britain.
Following the event, a post-golf barbeque will take place at the V.F.W. Post #511 Picnic Pavilion on Veterans Drive. The post-golf event, open to golfers and non-golfers alike, will feature a veterans ceremony, prizes and raffle.
Space is limited; early registration is encouraged. Entry fee for the event is $110 per player, which includes greens fees, cart, premium gift bag, lunch and beverages on the course, prizes and the post-golf barbeque. Those who cannot play may attend the barbeque only at $20 per person, cash or check at the gate. Gates open at approximately 5 p.m.
Complete tournament details and registration information is available at www.goldenkielbasa.org. Sponsorships beginning as low as $75 are available and the event is also seeking donation of raffle prizes. Contact Dennis Buden at 860-558-0514 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
