Falcon Nest 88 Golf Club Participates to Benefit PJPII Catholic School

Twelve members of the Polish Falcons of America Nest 88’s Golf Club formed three foursomes to play 18 holes of golf on May 20, 2011, participating in the Pope John Paul II Fourth Annual Golf Tournament at New Britain’s Stanley Municipal Golf Course, benefitting the Pope John Paul II Catholic School in New Britain. Nest 88’s Golf Club team consisted of: Richard Sadanowicz, Ben Nadzieja, Roman Pomykala, Al Jacunski, Wojciech Fanoli, Ted Marcisz, George Iskra, Michael Warchol, Kazimierz Zajac, Joe Pomykala and Vinny Kozyrski.

For a donation fee of $125 each, participating players received an inclusion of 18 holes of golf with GPS carts and a lunch buffet dinner at the Whinstone Tavern located at the golf course. An awards and raffle ceremony followed the dinner.

All proceeds from the Pope John Paul II Golf Tournament were designated to provide support for the continuation of the educational programs and operating costs of Pope John Paul II Catholic School, located on Farmington Avenue in New Britain. The school provides a quality Catholic education to students from New Britain and surrounding towns. Pope John Paul II Catholic School consists of a caring and positive learning environment for students beginning in the PreK-3 and PreK-4 level onward through grade 8. Learning is a process which occurs most successfully in an atmosphere of acceptance, thereby allowing students to question, experiment and take risks while maintaining a positive self-esteem. Students may have varying learning styles but basic needs are universal. As the Pope John Paul II Catholic School mission statement states, “The Pope John Paul II school community, inspired by faith, is committed to teaching and modeling Christian morals and values, while creating a caring, respectful environment that promotes academic excellence and fosters a continuous love for learning.” Therefore, what better goal to support then that of present and future students? And thus, the Nest 88 Golf Club was both happy and proud to participate in the Golf Tournament supporting the school and its students. It’s a definite investment into the future – not to mention being fun, too!
