Did you see the Yankees home opener? It should have been the Didi Show. Didi Gregorius was on a roll with two home runs and 8 RBI’s. It was the most RBI’s for a Yankee shortstop in a game ever.
In 2017 he had 25 home runs and 87 RBI’s. I predicted he would only hit 20 home runs this year. He may hit 30-35 home runs and have 100 RBI’s.
He may just be the most under rated player on the team. I am so glad to have him on my fantasy team.
As of Tuesday, Aaron Judge has no home runs. Is he in a sophomore slump?
Giancarlo Stanton hit two home runs on opening day against Toronto, but has not been impressive since then. I’m sure he will come around.
Judge will hit a few as well, but last year will be hard to compete against. Hopefully, he strikes out less.
It is going to be a fun year as Brandon Drury and Tyler Austin are also going long.
On the pitching side Luis Severino and Masahiro Tanaka have looked fantastic. The other starting pitchers have been average.
Should I talk about relief pitchers? As usual I am not impressed. David Robertson has an 18 ERA, Adam Warren is at 13.50, Dellin Betances and Tommy Kahnle have an ERA of 9 and closer Aroldis Chapman is at 4.50 with 1 loss in 2 games.
I’m confident they will get better. When I get too down on them, I remember to be thankful we don’t have Tyler Clippard.
This weekend the Yankees take on Baltimore before heading to Boston. Even though it is early in the season, the Boston series is huge. The two teams will battle all season.
Bleed blue and white!
