NBHS Celebrates 13th Musical With Visit from “The Addams Family”

New Britain High School proudly presents our 13th Annual Musical Production when “The Addams Family” brings a taste of the creepy, cooky and macabre onto our stage on March 23rd at 7 p.m. and March 24th at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. Based on the cartoons of Charles Addams which spawned the classic 1960s sitcom and several movie adaptations, The Addams Family comes to you live with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a brand new story by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.

All roles are portrayed by New Britain High School students. Manuel Benitez and Maeve Maltese lead the cast as Gomez and Morticia Addams, deeply in love, devastatingly depressed… and loving every minute of it. Nicholas Giantonio as Pugsley, Leah Gaffney as Wednesday, Robert Breau as Uncle Fester and Zoe Hyres-Buley as the loveable Grandmamma round out this delightfully dysfunctional family. Lucas Beineke, Wednesday’s boyfriend and would-be fiancé, is played by Dylan Washington, while his all-American parents are portrayed by Giovanni Cirinna and Claire Palin. Completing the ensemble cast is Treyvone Walker as Lurch, Timothy Carrier as Thing, Erasmus Gunawan as Cousin Itt and Kimberly Holder-Callender, Margarita Cartagena, Sara Colapietro, Natalia Matuszewska, Catherine Keithline and Abigail Olson as The Fester-Cestors (a sort of undead Andrews Sisters who provide Uncle Fester with back-up vocals and moral, or immoral, support). These talented boys and ghouls will be joined by a hoard of singers and dancers, all of whom portray the Addams Family Ancestors.

The show will be Directed and Music Directed by Jason Ferrandino (New Britain) with choreography by Christine Kuzia (Plainville). Set design and construction and Lighting/Sound design are by Robert Smedley (New Britain) and the NBHS Stage Crew. The Assistant Directors are Jasmine Colapietro (New Britain) and Joseph Foran (New Britain) with Stage Management by Joseph Foran (New Britain). Costume coordination and makeup is by Jasmine Colapietro (New Britain) and Elaine Zottola (New Britain) and photography and poster design is by Jason Ferrandino.

New Britain High will bring “The Addams Family” to you on March 23rd and 24th at 7 p.m. with a matinee performance on March 24th at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for Students and Senior Citizens and $15 for General Admission. All seating is first come first serve.
