City Launches New Online Water & Sewer Bill Payment System

The City of New Britain has launched a new service that allows property owners to conveniently and quickly pay for their water and sewer bill online through the City’s website at newbritainct.gov.

To access the secure payment processing service—provided by InvoiceCloud, visit newbritainct.gov and click on the “How Do I” tab on the left menu bar. From the pop up menu, select “Water Utility Bill” under the “Pay” header.

“We are excited to offer this convenient bill payment system for customers,” said Mayor Erin Stewart. “This is a something residents have been asking about for quite some time, and we are happy to finally launch this new payment option.”

With the service, users will be charged a credit/debit card convenience fee of $4.95 and $0.95 if using an ECheck. No registration is required to use the service, but creating an account offers users to access additional features.

“I am beyond thrilled that tax and water & sewer are now on the same page when it comes to credit card acceptance,” said Tax Collector Cheryl Blogoslawski. “If you do not have access to a computer and wish to pay by credit/debit card, we also have a self-service kiosk set up at our counter for your convenience. The process is user friendly, though we’re always happy to assist when needed.”

In February, the department will be launching a pay by phone service. Similar convenience fees will apply.

Individuals with questions or concerns about their water and sewer bill should contact the Tax Collector’s Office at 860-826-3540 or watersupport@newbritainct.gov. Payment can also be made in person in Room 104, 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. On the last Thursday of every month, the department is open until 6:45 p.m.
