Joseph Costardo is a Connecticut contemporary sculptor. Discarded antique furniture is the primary source of inspiration for his subject matter. His media is found in various states of decay and tattered through years of humble service, found and collected from the curbside, or donated by homeowners. Mr. Costardo spares these once prominent, utilitarian elements of historic home decor their inevitable fate as refuse. His sculptures breathe new life into these forgotten furnishings and his attention to detail yields bold compositions that accentuate the mystique, history, and pride that lie within their natural patina.
