Family Fun- Dry Bones!

While I was making this skeleton the only song I could hear in my head was Dry Bones! Do you know it?

Here’s a little bit of it so it can be in your head too:

Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones

Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones

Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones

Now you know I watched a You Tube video that was pretty funny! Things sure have changed since I was a kid!

Super Simple craft adventure this week.

Cotton Swabs

White paint

Black Construction Paper

Black Sharpie Marker

White glue

How to:

Snip the cotton ends of a couple of cotton swabs. Using the middle section as a back bone glue on the other bones to form the body. Dip a thumb into white paint to make the head. When the paint dries use the sharpie to draw the face. Fun, easy and not to scary!

Now to take this one step further.. what would the shape of a dog or cat or dinosaur look like? Can you arrange your bones into an animal shape?

Books to Extend the Activity:

Dry Bones by Kate Edmunds

The Glow in the Dark Book of the Human Skeletons by Michael Novak

Dinosaur Bones by Bob Barner
