On Tuesday I went to the National Night Out at Walnut Hill Park. It is always nice to see so many residents get together for an event.
The kids were honking the police siren and learning about fire safety, motorcycles and more. I bet some were having so much fun they did not even realize they were learning.
Adults had the chance to mingle. I love it because I get a chance to talk to more people about the paper and just thing goings on New Britain.
A special thanks should go to all the organizations that donated food. There were a lot of people to feed.
I had a lot of fun, but never did get to Willow Street Park for their event. I bet it was just as nice.
I’ve gone for the last six years and each time it gets better and better. Thanks Sgt. Paula Keller for all your hard work to make this happen. It was a resounding success.
I was so excited to see the new way finding signs put up along the City. I really can’t wait for the historical signs and the ones on the 30 Most Interesting Facts. We need to find a way to make New Britain a destination point. See page 1 for more.
There will be another great event happening in New Britain this weekend in the Charity Ride & Picnic. It is a great cause and looks like lots of fun. I can’t wait.
If you see page 4, you will see the way to use the new kiosks. I have been hesitant to use them, but now that I know the facts, I will give it a try. I can’t wait to just scan my Smart Phone one day to pay for parking.
I have to say I am surprised not to see Alderman Michael Trueworthy resign from Common Council after the events of a few weeks ago. I really think he should focus on the important issues in life. I expected he would have realized that by now.
I want to encourage Berlin residents to send in information. We can only cover the town if you help us.
Send information to:
The New Britain City Journal, PO Box 2111, New Britain, CT 06050 or email us at [email protected]
Stories, photos and briefs from Berlin and New Britain are always appreciated.
So my joke this week from Facebook really hits home.
My fan has 3 settings:
1. Barely Moving
2. Kind of feeling like it’s working
3. Flying off the ceiling like it wants to kill somebody
Why is it that fans work that. It is the scariest when it happens to a ceiling fan, but I have other fans that seem to have 2 setting. Not working and jumping off the table.
Until next week, think about a hand fan, and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
