No Carnival This Year

Those waiting for the Coleman Brothers Carnival will be a bit disappointed. Officials say there will be none this year.
The state would not give permission for the right of way for the property where the carnival is held. The carnival is usually held on Main St. near the railroad tracks in the empty plaza.
The city rents out the first part of the plaza for parking, but the property is owned by the state.
It is unknown whether the carnival will return next year.
