It was fantastic that the weather turned out so nice last Saturday so the New Britain contingent could march at Hartford’s St. Patrick Day Parade. We have some great submitted photos. It looks like everyone had fun. It is wonderful when we can show off our great City. Our police department won first place for best police department in the parade. Congratulations to all those involved. You made New Britain proud. See photos on page 8.
Are you ready to think Spring? I know I am. That is why on page 1 we have a story about Spring spruce-ups. Whether it is your house, yard or car, it is time to prepare for warmer weather.
I had the chance to sit down with Edward Colon who is running for state representative. What a nice man. It will be an interesting race between him and Robert Sanchez. Sanchez has also worked hard for this City.
I was certainly surprised to see Dr. Aram Ayalon resign. There was a lot of turmoil between the school board and him. They never saw eye to eye. I don’t know if resigning was the proper move. But, I guess you need to do what feels right.
The resolution charging landlords is officially repealed. We were against it from the start unlike other newspapers who joined the bandwagon at the end. It was a terrible ordinance. Let’s hope no mayor ever comes up with that kind of foolish idea again.
I stopped by the West Side Tavern for their Grand Opening celebration last Saturday. There is a great group of people that go there. If you have the chance, stop by for a drink or a meal. Some of the food looked amazing. I need to try that Flintstone Burger or the Peter Burger. It’s great to see new businesses opening. The City needs to support them.

Joke from Facebook this week once again involves our cold weather.
“Dear Mother Nature, Get back on your meds, open a bottle of wine and start thinking warm, happy thoughts!”
And of course one more for good measure.
“Never judge a man until you’ve walked a mile with his wife while she buys shoes.”
Until next week keep walking that mile, and keep reading Your #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
