I have taught in New Britain for 35 years. My background includes teacher, counselor, housemaster and principal. I moved to New Britain after my retirement and have continued to serve the children of New Britain. I graduated from Central Ct. University, Northeastern University and received a masters degree in special education/Spanish from the University of Hartford.

I have been an active participant in community activities including, First Female President of the Boys and Girls Club, Board member of the B&G Club, Race in the Park Co- Chair in 2004/2005, First Female President of the Kiwanis Club in New Britain, Young Parents Club, YWCA Women in Leadership.

My focus on education should be to give every child the equal opportunity to learn to read and write. Each child must be given basic fundamentals which are the building blocks to expand their knowledge of the world they live

in. We need to encourage them to become positive, compassionate members of their community and society. Every child should have the equal opportunity to soar to their highest level and beyond. We must ensure that we carry out our obligation to see that this happens. My focus has always been for a quality, equal education for every child in New Britain.
