If you look down on this page you will see our comic. It is our last one from Katie Jurkiewicz and Ryan Yacoriello. They have been doing this for two years now. I want to thank them for all their hard work. New Britain residents are really dedicated to helping to make this City better. The time they have devoted to this comic is immense. Thank you both. You have done a great job!

It’s hard when things end, but there are always new beginnings happening. This week Superintendent Kelt Cooper spoke of our future. He believes the schools will be winners again. It is so nice to have that kind of attitude. Cooper is the City’s new shining star. I can’t wait for him to succeed.

Not all news this week has been this good. We got word that some programs like Camp Total Rec, the library, the youth museum and leaf pick-up may be cut. The senior citizen property tax cuts may also be eliminated. I am hoping something else can be done. We will just have to wait and see what happens. I’m not going to be an alarmist quite yet. I will keep a sharp eye on them though. See page 1.

On page 2 is Kids Spiel. I love the answers to the question “At what age do you become an adult?” Kids’ answers are so cute.

Seniors who have skills need to check out page 3. If you are willing to donate some of your time showing your skills to NBHS students it would be appreciated. There has to be a lot of machinists and tool makers out there that can help.

Also, check out the Tommy Fund on page 3. If you are interested in beer tasting then they are holding the event for you. Just don’t drink too much!

I hope you all got last week’s big edition. This week was much more relaxed for me. It’s great to get back to normal. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut-off last week.

Did you go to the Car Show on Main St. Saturday? It was better than ever. I saw some cars I really loved. One was for sale for $98,000. It was just a little bit out of my reach. Maybe, someday!

I had an idea for Halloween and it is coming together. Read more about it next week!

My funny joke from Facebook is “The best thing about being single is you can sleep around. You can sleep around the left side, the right side, the middle, the end or wherever you want!”

And I found one more thing. “It’s September! Merry Thanksgivoween!” I’m told its good through Dec. 25.

Until next week, pick a side of the bed to sleep on and keep reading YOUR #1 Weekly Newspaper!
