Pinstripe Press

I’m not feeling really optimistic about the way the Yankees are playing these days. After two innings I find myself tuning into the Olympics instead.
On Monday night Justin Verlander struck out 14 Yankees as Ivan Nova had another poor pitching performance. His ERA since the all star break is over 8.
It takes a lot for me not to want more from the Yankees, but this is the worst few weeks the team has performed all season.
In mid-August the team needs to be playing better. This weekend we play Toronto. I am hoping we gain our form even though we are playing in Canada. The Blue Jays have not been the greatest team this season and the Yankees must seize that opportunity to grab at least 2 games if not get a sweep.
If the Yankees are going to win the division and make it far in the playoffs, things need to change soon. Games against Texas and Boston are on the horizon.
Texas leads the American League West and the Red Sox are always a battle.
Andy Pettitte has suffered a little delay this week, so there is not definitive timetable for his return.
Basically, I have nothing good to say about the Pinstripers this week. Let’s hope next week, my feelings are better.
