If you are looking for an appliance for your kitchen or need repair of an appliance, a born and raised New Britain resident has opened a new business just for you.
Roger Nadeau Jr. opened New Britain Appliance Sales and Service LLC in March of 2011 and moved his business to 666 Arch St. in November of 2011.
“I have been doing appliance repair for almost 15 years,” said Nadeau. “I’ve been selling them at New Britain Sales in Newington and worked elsewhere for years.”
Reconditioned items from washers, dryers, stoves, fridges, dishwashers, garbage disposals, downdraft systems are available in his store.
“Anything you use to cook or put in the kitchen we sell,” said Nadeau. “They are refurbished and come with a 90 day warranty including parts and labor.”
Prices start at $150 for a stove and $250 for a refrigerator.
“Sometimes we get brand new scratch and dents that we buy,” said Nadeau. “We do in home service for $85 including one hour of labor.”
All service calls are guaranteed one full year.
“We are confident in our work,” said Nadeau.
Although the address is 666 Nadeau said it is actually a lucky number rather than a bad number.
Nadeau does most of the work alone, but it is family run with his wife Christina and one part-time helper.
“We do package sets of washer and dryers for $350,” said Nadeau. “Refrigerator and stove combo’s start at $375. The more you buy the more you save.”
There is also free appliance removal from homes and they do take donations.
“We do work with the Hospital of Central Connecticut for needy families,” he said. “We discount it half price for them.”
But, anyone can come in and look. For service it is best to call for an appointment. Free delivery is available on the first floor or a single family home if you mention this story.
“My goal this year is to try and generate enough business so we can donate to one family a month a refrigerator and a stove,” said Nadeau. “Once I get more business I want to give back. A fridge and stove are the most important things in a house. You need to keep your food cold and cook it.”
Nadeau said business has picked up about 50-75 percent over the past year.
