Rocky Horror Show Returns to New Britain

Phoenix Theater Company is bringing “The Rocky Horror Show” back to Trinity-On-Main in New Britain, Connecticut Oct. 14-29. All the Transylvanians are coming back also. Come see the spectacle! Come and sing along to the great music! Come dressed as your favorite character. Come and enjoy the wedding and the creation! Participation bags will be available.

There will be seven shows at 8 p.m.: Fridays, Oct. 14, 21 and 28 and Saturdays, Oct. 15 and 22. There will be special shows at Midnight on Oct. 22 and 29. There is no 8 p.m. show Saturday, October 29.

“The Rocky Horror Show” written by Richard O’Brien, was first produced as a play in London in 1973. The play came to America in 1974, beginning in Los Angeles. A film version was produced in 1975 that is still playing in many local theaters, especially in midnight shows.

The show is directed and produced by Christopher Ryan of Bristol. Ryan is the founder of Phoenix Theater Company, now based at Trinity-On-Main. Jason Ferrandino (New Britain) is the Music Director. Lights and sound are being handled by Quint Johnson, Sr. (Branford), Travis Johnson (Branford) and Laura Wasilewski (North Branford). Also helping out backstage are Phil Kendell, Nick Genga, (Alicia Pinchin (Hartford) and Lynne Mazotas (South Windsor). Set construction is by the cast and crew.

Heading the stellar cast are Tony Palmieri (Middletown) as Dr. Frank n Furter, Brian Ballou (East Hampton) as Brad, Sam Frank (Wallingford) as Janet, Michael Gonsalves (Ellington) as Riff Raff, Virginia Skinner (Orange) as Columbia, Quint Johnson Jr. (Orange) as Rocky, Em Mazotas (Middletown) as Magenta, Aaron Larkin (East Haven) as Eddie and Jim Metzler (Manchester) as Dr. Scott and the Preacher. Jason Ferrandino (New Britain) is the Narrator. Rachel Szostek (New Britain) and Gabbie Hanson (Newington) are the Usherettes.

Also in the cast as Transylvanians are: Sam Heibler (Branford), Kaili Saccauino (Wallingford), Amanda Francis (South Windsor), Kim Diliso (Derby), Christina Avino (Deep River), Jaime Hatch (also as Betty) (Wallingford), Eren Lee (also as Ralph) (Middletown) and Tasha Sweeny (Hamden).

“Rocky Horror Show” will be presented at Trinity-on-Main at 69 Main Street in New Britain, from Oct. 14 to 29, with two midnight shows on October 22 and 29. Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door. There will be a cash bar and other refreshments will be available.
