New Britain Sister City Committee Announces 2018 Visit

The New Britain Sister City Committee is planning a trip to New Britain’s sister city Rastatt, Germany. Local residents are invited to participate in the visit now being planned.

The trip to Rastatt, Germany is planned for Monday, May 28 returning on Wednesday, June 6 and includes attending the largest street festival in Germany. The biannual Tête-à-Tête (face to face) street festival is a six-day event that begins at 2 p.m. and runs until after midnight each day. The event features a wide variety of performance and vocal art held on public streets and other venues, as well as opportunities to sample local cuisine. The 2018 visit will include several day trips from Rastatt to such nearby cities as Heidelburg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and Baden-Baden, Germany, as well as Strasbourg, France.

YouTube provides several video presentations under the headings of “Rastatt Germany” and also “tet-e-tet”. As well you can also view alternative “side” trips videos many of which can be viewed in English.

The trip will include air and land transportation as well as hotel accommodations (includes hearty breakfast), and tickets to daily Tet-e-Tet events. A stipend will be allowed for the evening meal and lunches and beverages will be on your own.
