11th Annual Downtown New Britain/TD Bank Car Show on September 23

The New Britain Downtown District (NBDD) is sponsoring the 11th annual 2017 New Britain/TD Bank Downtown Car Show on Saturday, September 23 from 9a.m. – 3 p.m. The show will take place at Central Park in front of City Hall and from Chestnut Street to Columbus Boulevard.

Residents of Hartford, West Hartford, Elmwood and Newington can take the CTfastrak to the 11th Annual Car Show and get off the bus one block from the show, where the Family Fun is Bigger and Better than Ever! Downtown New Britain steps way-back with many of the old automobiles for you to enjoy. There will be ample free parking in local parking garages and food and drink will available all day from the many fine eateries in Downtown. Public Admission is Free. There will be a 50/50 raffle (which will be drawn after the awards are given) and a door prize raffle every hour.

Chrome will be King as Antique Cars from 20’s and 30’s, Classic Cars from the 40’s, Muscle Cars from the 50’s, Street Rods from the 60’s, Imports and the Extreme Tuners (small, late model, non-Detroit automobiles) of more recent vintage, today’s cars which will be the classics of tomorrow, take over downtown New Britain. There will be 20 Trophies awarded, plus the Explorer’s Youth Trophy and the Mayor’s Trophy. There is a $10 suggested Exhibitor Fee to enter a car in the show.

As always, all proceeds benefit the New Britain Police Explorers youth group. New Britain’s West Main Street will be dedicated to this nostalgic retro display. As historic New Britain City Hall serves as the backdrop and local restaurants, exhibitors, vendors and a DJ will add to the family fun. See if your favorite car wins or is awarded the coveted Mayors Trophy.

This year’s Honorary Chair is Orson “Roy” Rothkopf of Imperial Trophy & City Luggage of Downtown New Britain. The Co-Chairs representing the Downtown District Board are Frank Shank (Owner of the New Britain Professional Building & realtor for Amodio Realty LLC) and John Glowka (Glowka Wealth Management). Matt Wilk represents the organizing car club, Constitution State Classics Car Club.
