National Night Out is always fun, but I think this year’s was the best. I enjoyed watching people dance and kids cheerleading. There were plenty of booths and not long lines for food. I think having it at Central Park was a great idea.

I couldn’t estimate how many people took part, but I don’t think it was as much as past years. It was previously at two places. It took part at Willow Street Park and Walnut Hill Park. Still, it was available to all. I hope you attended.

Those involved should be congratulated. It was a huge success.

Our lead story this week is on raises at the board of education. Read more about that on this page.

We also have a great story on page 1 about helping those with disabilities. It is a must read.

Our Top 10 is back on page 2. We took a look at the best bars to hang out in. There are a few really good ones. Where do you like to frequent?

On page 3 is a new feature we hope to have once a month. It is our 15 Minutes of Fame. I will be going around the City asking people questions and posting their pictures. If you see me around New Britain and want to be in it next month, just let me know.

I think it is interesting to get to know people. Some answers are really good.

The City Journal is offering businesses something new. Are you interested in getting your business ads marketed. We can design it, get it on Facebook, twitter, on our website and in the paper for one low cost. We can do just one of those options or you can choose them all. Costs vary depending on what you choose.

If you aren’t on the internet, you should be calling us at 860-505-7612 today.

I still have some corny jokes that were sent into me. Here are a few for you.

A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, “Doctor, doctor, I can’t feel my legs!” The doctor replied, “I know you can’t. I’ve cut off your arms!”

I went to a seafood disco last week… and pulled a mussel.

One more

What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.

What do you think? I know they are silly, but I like the mussel one.

Until next week don’t dance too hard at a disco and keep reading New Britain’s #1 Most Trusted Newspaper!
