Message about Capt. Tuttle from Police Chief William Gagliardi

Captain Matt Tuttle will be buried with full honors. A bus will transport officers, dispatchers and officials to the funeral home, to the church and to the interment. The Honor Guard will be present, Taps will be played, a bag pipe will play appropriate traditional police funeral music, and a salvo of firearms will be fired as a salute. We have requested that officers from other departments, who expressed their desire to participate in the funeral, meet us at the funeral home.
I want to thank Mayor Timothy Stewart for ordering City flags to half-staff, the Board of Police Commissioners for their support, the many police departments, State and City officials, private citizens, neighborhood residents, and Court Officials for their expressions of sympathy. I also want to thank the Police Union and the officers of the department for their immediate response and support for the Department’s actions in response to this tragedy.
The wake is Thursday at the Biega Funeral Home in Middletown, CT beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral is at 1 p.m. at Saint Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus, CT.

During his distinguished career he received many awards and citations for his exemplary work in high profile cases including child pornography and murder cases.
