I went to Yankee Stadium last Friday night as the Yankees played the Oakland Athletics. Unfortunately, the A’s won 4-1. But what was most disappointing to me were the fans. The people in front of me only cared about food. You can now order food by an app and have it delivered to your seats. (It is more expensive and smaller portions than if you get up and get it yourself.)

And once they ate their food, it was straight to the cell phone. One lady had a conversation on her phone throughout most of the game.

The people behind me were only interested in the beer. How many they could buy at one time and making sure they did not run out.

I, on the other hand, was there for the game. I felt like I was nearly alone in watching it.

We did get a foul ball fall 4-5 seats away.

Still, there is nothing like seeing the game live. The stadium was smaller than I imagined, but very beautiful. I wanted to see Masahiro Tanaka pitch and he did not disappoint. Monument Park was also fantastic. It had so many great players. It was quite a thrill.

Overall, it was a great experience. I can’t wait to go back.

As for the Yankees this week, they were hard to predict. They can’t seem to hit against left handers.

Brett Gardner has been lighting up the home runs. Aaron Judge did get a few this week. Judge was definitely the crowd favorite on Friday night as he got the loudest applause from fans.

The Yanks take on Toronto this week. The Blue Jays are playing better so this could be a tough match. I don’t expect any blow-outs. Pitching needs to be stellar. I do believe we can take the series.
