Top 10 Polish Places to Eat in NB/Berlin

It’s time for a Top 10 and this month we recognize the Top 10 places to get Polish food as chosen by the New Britain City Journal Facebook Group.

  1. Staropolska, 252 Broad St., New Britain was easily the first place winner as best Polish food. According to Staropolska, you’ll find Polish cuisine, bar, and many, many more other details, which create something, what you can define as ‘atmosphere’. This impression is heightened by aroma of dishes being prepared fresh daily.
    It’s the perfect place for everybody who has never experienced true Polish cuisine.
    Our reader’s had no doubts that Staropolska was the best.
  1. Cracovia, 994 West Main St., New Britain takes second place.
    Curtain-trimmed cafe showcasing homespun Polish cuisine, plus American breakfasts & sandwiches. It was previously located in Broad St., but recently moved. Many Facebook members agreed everyone needs to try Cracovia.
  1. Polonia Taste, 94 Broad St., New Britain. Delicious Polish food you can eat inside or take home. Readers say that you must try this place.
  2. Roly Poly, 587 Main St., New Britain. Outpost of a counter-serve chain featuring a large selection of wraps, plus soups & salads. Readers say great pastries and deli.
  3. Europlate, 96 Broad St., New Britain. Eat inside or take out traditional foods like pierogi, stuffed cabbage and kielbasa. It is a quick and easy place to stop for Polish cuisine.
  4. Kasia’s Bakery, 88 Broad St., New Britain. Best known as a bakery, but you can take food out. Readers say the golabki is just like mom makes.
  5. Belvidere Cafe and Restaurant, 82 Broad St., New Britain. A great place to hang out and watch soccer games. The food is excellent as well. Most recommended is the potato pancakes.
  6. Baltic Restaurant, 237 New Britain Rd., Berlin. Banquet hall offering traditional Polish & American cuisine with plenty of old-world style. It is the only Berlin restaurant to make this list.
  7. Krakus Meat Market, 259 Broad St., New Britain. It sells food, but is not a restaurant. Reader’s say it’s a great stop for Polish food.
  8. Martin Rosols, 45 Grove St., New Britain. You can’t buy cooked food here, but if you are looking to buy Polish food to take home and cook, Martin Rosols is best known in the City for it’s great selection.
    They have been producing high quality, delicious products since 1928. Their Kielbasa, Frankfurts, Kellies, Veal Loaf and many other meat products and provisions are produced to the highest quality standards.
