Bringing “Care” Back into Homecare

When families go through the process of getting help for the first time many don’t know what kind of questions to ask to protect themselves and their loved ones. There are many risks that families may overlook when looking for a caregiver on their own. This is why it is crucial to find the right and trustworthy agency to take care of your loved one.

Earlier this year, Euro-American Homecare, LLC, a Berlin-based homecare agency, was recognized as one of the best home care providers in the nation and earned 2017 Best of Home Care – Provider of Choice and 2017 Best of Home Care – Employer of Choice awards by Homecare Pulse. Homecare Pulse is the top leading satisfaction research and quality assurance firm specializing in private duty home care. Home Care Pulse interviews a portion of companies’ clients and caregivers monthly, providing detailed, unbiased feedback from them.

After 28 years of running Euro-American Connections & Homecare, LLC, owner and founder Maggie Drag has found that the homecare industry has drastically changed. In the last decade, many homecare businesses began to open and only with one purpose – make money. But that was not the reason why Euro-American was established. This all started when Maggie was a young girl growing up in Poland. She was taught the value of supporting older members of the community. What inspired her was the value in helping people who needed assistance and matching them with those who genuinely wanted to assist others. Once she started the company, she wanted to share this same value and commitment to care.

“I would love to change the way the industry provides care more than anything because what we do here is not just about homecare. We are about bringing meaning back to the lives of our clients. My goal is to make sure that the families we work with aware of their options, help them find their unique solution, and guide them through every step of the process. There is a uniqueness in everyone, and our goal is to find these qualities in both our clients and caregivers,” says Maggie Drag.

“We are delighted for Maggie and Euro-American Homecare. We are also so proud that they call Berlin home and can see that happy employees make better caregivers”, said Economic Development Director Chris Edge.
