More good news this week as our bond rating rose once again. This helps the City save money as we can get bonds for less money. Upgrades basically mean the City is doing very well.

We were compared to the State and we are doing much better than many other cities. We are going in the right direction.

There has been a lot done in New Britain this year and more is coming. New Britain is definitely on the move. Our star is rising.

We held our fundraiser for the New Britain Halloween Safe Zone Monday night. I want to send a big thank you to Isaac Silva and the West Side Tavern staff. The food was amazing and we appreciate all you did for us. Thanks again.

We raised nearly $1,000 and all of it will go towards candy for our Halloween Trick or Treat Safe Zone event. We also had great prizes donated by local businesses. We had over 30 prizes. It was a great raffle. Thanks to all who donated.

Now, we are just looking forward to the event. We still need candy so if you would like to donate some, drop it off at the downtown district at 66 West Main St.

Some of the details about our event are on page 2. More will come next week.

I’m very excited about it. It’s less than two weeks away. People keep asking me when it is. It is always on Halloween night.

There are a lot of questions from residents about Charter Question 3 coming on the ballot. It seems to me there are too many items in that question and it should be split into at least two. I cannot see it passing and some items are good. Others not as good. It’s too bad the Council did not see that and break them up. I understand they don’t want 25 questions on the ballot, but 4 or 5 would have been fine. See page 1 for more information.

What do you think a new slogan for our City should be? Soon City Journal readers will have a chance to cast their votes. Keep reading our paper for more information. I can’t wait to see what is chosen.

I have kind of a silly joke from Facebook this week.

“Based on all the housework I do every week, I’m starting to think there must be more people living here that I haven’t met yet.”

If you have kids, I’m sure you can relate to this.

Until next week keep track of who lives in your house and keep reading New Britain’s #1 Most Trusted Newspaper!
