On Wednesday night, the Common Council approved Xenolith Partners, LLC as the developer of the property located at 125 Columbus Boulevard and authorized Mayor Erin E. Stewart to negotiate a sale price and to execute all necessary documents for the development agreement and conveyance of the property.

The property at the former New Britain Police Department will house Columbus Commons, a two-phase, mixed-use development. The anticipated development will include two five story L-shaped mixed-use buildings with approximately 144 residential units with an interior courtyard in addition to commercial, retail and/or office space on the first floor.

It is expected to cost $58 million to complete the project. The City is selling the property for not less than $150,000.

“This is going to be a multi-million dollar project and I look forward to it.” said Mayor Pro-Tem Jamie Giantonio.
