Lions Club Gets Ice Cream Flavor

For those who like to try new flavored ice cream, the New Britain’s Lions Club recommends everyone come down to Frisbees on Sept. 22 around 5 p.m. to try the “Lions Royale”.
Made with French Vanilla and Black Cherry ice cream, to match the Lion’s Club colors, the ice cream will be served to eager patrons.
“In the early part of summer I spoke with Mike Frisbee about a donation for the Lions Club Golf Tournament,” said New Britain Lions Club Treasurer Frank Marrocco. “He gave it to me and I asked about holding a fundraiser and he said a lot of people do that.”
People often have an ice cream social and get their own flavor.
Once the club came up with a flavor, it had to come up with a name. So it asked members. Out of 27 entrees, “Lions Royale” was chosen.
“We are doing a social with pizza and ice cream at Frisbees (951 Farmington Ave.). It can be inside and outside. It is for Lions members, their friends or anyone who wants to take part.”
How long the flavor is around no one knows.
“If the flavor is a big seller who knows if they will keep it or not,” said Marrocco.
But if you get to the event next Thursday, you will be among the first to get the chance to test it.
