The Democratic Primary in New Britain is Tuesday. I wish local elections were taken as seriously as presidential elections. If you are a Democrat please get out and vote. We have made our endorsements on this page, but the result is up to voters. The winner in the registrar of voters election will win that position in November. The winner in the 6th district has a very good chance to win in November as well. Your vote matters.
Did you go to National Night Out? It grows every year. It is so nice to see the community working together. We have a great police department in New Britain. They continue to try to help the community. I am glad they support us and we support them.
Everyone likes to get free food like hamburgers, kielbasa, hot dogs, pizza and more. It’s just a bonus for the celebration. It truly was a good night for our City.
And how about a big thank you to Officer Matthew Sulek who helped a 4 year old with his lemonade stand. It is another sign of how good our officers are. See story on page 1.
Do you like wings? The New Britain City Journal Facebook group voted in their favorites. See page 1 for the winners.
We also have a very interesting interview with the new principal of New Britain High School on page 2. I like his ideas. New Britain has many devoted people. Let’s appreciate what we have.
A couple of quick reminders. If you want your New Britain City Journal delivered to your home it is $29.95 for 6 months. Call 860-505-7612 with your credit card and we will start your subscription.
I also want to remind you to tell our advertisers you saw their ads in our paper. Your words make a big difference. For example, use our coupons on page one for Grand Pizza. See other ads for more deals.
Also, send in article ideas or press releases to [email protected]. I consider every submission. Most make the paper. We also love old photos and family accomplishments. What is important to you is important to us.
And if you pick up a paper at of one of our news boxes, please don’t use the box as a trash can. Be considerate.
I found a cute joke on Facebook this week.
“Apparently, it’s only appropriate to say ‘Look at you. You got so big.’ to children. Adults tend to get offended.”
Ha-ha.
Until next week, watch what you say and keep reading New Britain’s #1 Most Trusted Newspaper!
