Don Lukowski, Chairperson & Founder of the Children’s Charities Tennis Classic, has announced that the 38th annual tournament will be held Friday, August 12 through Sunday, August 14th at the Don Davis Tennis Courts at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain.

The event, one of the largest Jr. Charity Tennis Tournaments in central CT, is open to all Jr. players ages 10 through 25. There are over 10 divisions, in both singles and doubles, including a parent/child doubles division. Requested Entry fees are $20 for singles and $20 per doubles team. This year, the Classic has added an adult doubles division, which will be played on Sunday afternoon.

The Classic will be held to benefit the pediatric unit of the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. In the 37 years of the tournament, over $140,000 has been raised for various pediatric charities here in New Britain. 100 percent of all entry fees and donations are given directly to the hospital. The first 70 players to register will receive a free tournament t-shirt.

Lukowski stated, “This is a fun, family-friendly tournament with players of all levels participating. It’s a great event and the Pediatrics Unit of the Hospital for Special Care is a wonderful institution that does much to help those young people with special needs and serious injuries. I hope that many young players turn out and support our cause! At our tournament, it’s not how great your tennis game is, it’s how great your heart is.”
