It’s no secret that here at Scraptivity we love faeries. Visit our shop and you will find houses, swings, gardens and much more devoted to our faeries. Oh! Did you see that? Over your shoulder just then? It was probably a tiny faerie looking for a little mischief! We find the best way to live with them is to have plenty of things they like around within easy reach. Glitter, ribbons, flowers, shells, natural materials for building and garden creating. While faeries can go wherever they like whenever they like it is fun to help them out and build little doors for them. It’s just one more way of letting them know that Faeries are welcome here! So, that’s what today’s craft is. A tiny faerie door!
Materials Needed:
Popsicle sticks, pencil, Hot glue gun or thick tacky glue, Paint, Strong scissors or branch cutters, Shells, Silk flowers and leaves, Glitter
How to:
Line up 8 Popsicle sticks. Take 2 more sticks and form the roof. Using a pencil draw a line on an angle for the roof line. This is a bit tricky because you have not yet glued anything together yet and the sticks will want to move while you try to draw. An extra pair of hands here would be nice. Once lines are drawn use your scissors or branch trimmers to snip the sticks to the right angle. Ok! Hard part done! Line up your sticks in the correct order and glue one stick crossways across the bottom to hold everything in place. Now for the roof. Take 2 more sticks and snip them to the correct length. Glue them down.
Now for the fun part! Paint your door. When dry apply embellishments. Don’t forget to dot a little glue where you would like the glitter or that faerie my sprinkle her own!
