Mayor Erin E. Stewart presented the city’s next “Beautification” award on Monday, June 13th to Frisbie’s Dairy Barn in recognition of the owner’s new development at the site of the former Guida’s Dairy bar.
“Mike Frisbie and his team have transformed a long-vacant parcel into a vibrant addition to our city,” said Mayor Stewart. “The careful attention to detail—both inside and outside—shows a strong commitment to our community.”
The Mayor added, “Frisbie’s Dairy Barn has rejuvenated the northwest entrance to our city and most importantly, brought back homemade ice cream sundaes.”
Mayor Stewart announced in January 2015 the “Beautify New Britain” initiative as a way to recognize New Britain property owners who have beautified or significantly improved their property. Previous recipients have included Riley’s Hot Dog and Burger Gourmet, Polamer Precision, the Simon Konover Company for their work in transforming the Pinnacle Heights housing complex into the modern Brytania Square community, and Atlantic Restoration on Woodlawn Street.
A new business or residence will be selected on an on-going basis. The recipient is determined through feedback from the public, as well as through input from city personnel who have direct knowledge of the properties.
