Take a Quick Survey

The Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce and the City have teamed up to start a marketing program to help make a plan for the future of the City.
“We have done a good job marketing with the beehive and things, but the City needs a good solid strategy,” said Mayor Erin Stewart. “A lot of it includes resident and employee feedback and even parent feedback.”
In the past the City tried to get a group together to come up with a marketing plan, but the public did not attend meetings and it has been disbanded.
The new plan asks for residents to go to surveymonkey.com to take a survey called “Perceptions Study: New Britain residents?”
Questions involve services used and unused as well as things you would like to see more of. There are also areas to write a comment.
“We are hoping to encourage the community to participate in this quick survey. It takes three minutes,” said Stewart. “We can’t accurately build a marketing campaign without having proper data on what is most important to us. We want to know our strengths and weaknesses.”
The City wants to know what it is really good at and what it is really bad at. It will help address any misconceptions in the community and direct attention to areas where the City is the weakest.
It is being done out of the Chamber of Commerce office, but every area of the community has taken part in the initial meetings which began in February.
“Now we have a solid foundation, we just need to hear from our citizens,” said Stewart. “All of us agreed we needed feedback in order to move forward. We can sit in a room and say what we think, but we don’t accurately know what the average resident is thinking. That is why we came up with an online survey. It is in hopes that we would be able to gather an accurate screen shot. This will drive our message.”
SurveyMonkey is an online survey development cloud-based software as a service company, founded in 1999.
