Fitness By Design and A Gentle Touch Electrolysis recently opened their doors in Berlin on Webster Square Road.
Begun in 2005, Fitness By Design went under new ownership in late 2015 under Meaghan Massenat. Meaghan, who has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, has had a lifelong love for fitness and being healthy. Since she took over in early 2015, Fitness By Design has become what was needed in the marketplace for moms – a place where they could finally do something good for themselves. Someone can take just 30-45 minutes out of their day and get a great workout in order to have more energy, decrease stress, lose weight, or get stronger.
Fitness By Design is a place where anyone (male or female) can come workout, either one on one or in a small group, without the large, intimidating gym environment.
“As someone who grew up in sports and in the gym I hadn’t really realized how un-friendly gyms are to the general public. It is scary to walk into a gym and try to figure out what to do with what machine. At FBD you don’t have to worry about that, we do the work for you. You come in ready to sweat and we’ll show you the way”, happily explained Meaghan.
A Gentle Touch Electrolysis shares the location on Webster Square Road with Fitness By Design. A Gentle Touch was founded in 2005 by Heather Vaughan-Pignatella, LE, CPE. Educated at The Electrology Institute of New England, Heather offers women, men, and teens permanent hair removal in a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. She uses disposable single-use probes and strictly follows the Infection Prevention Standards for the practice of Electrology. Electrolysis is the only true permanent hair removal method and the only permanent treatment recognized by the FDA.
“We are very pleased that Fitness By Design and A Gentle Touch Electrolysis have joined the Berlin business community to help men and women get fit and be healthier”, stated Town Manager Denise McNair.
A ribbon-cutting took place on May 13thth at their location at 39A Webster Square Rd.
