Just a quick explanation of what I wrote last week as there seems to be some confusion. The paper is still free. It only costs to subscribe. Subscriptions keep us afloat so we encourage them, but it is not required.
A few people thought they had to pay for the paper. Only those that are delivered by the mail costs money.
How do you feel about not having an Oktoberfest again this year? Main Street USA looks to be fun again. I enjoyed it last year. I hope a compromise is made next year.
Did you read about all the interesting things happening downtown on page 1. I have to say there is always something new. Soon the traffic lights will sync up to move traffic along, more work is being done on streetscape right through to the post office and new grants are being applied for. I still can’t wait for the Beehive Bridge to be done.
I don’t know how, but Mayor Erin Stewart keeps having great ideas. This City is very luck to have her. I can’t imagine what is next.
It was a bit sad to see a delay in the Berkowitz Building renovation. Everyone wants to see that move forward. Hopefully, funding will come through next time they apply.
A lot of people have feelings on the Mayor term changing to 4 years. Most seem to be in favor of it. See page 2.
Our Facebook group members had a lot to say. Even the Mayor weighed in. I’m still against the change, but I do understand the reasons people are for four years.
Attention Realtors!! The New Britain City Journal is bringing a new way to get your real estate message across. We are offering an affordable way to let the community know about what is going on in the marketplace.
We will have a special real estate spot in our paper called Realty Resources. It will be a listing with a photo of a home for sale. Realtors should include address, price, phone number and a brief description.
We will highlight the section giving it plenty of publicity so readers and Facebook users do not miss it.
Call me at 860-505-7612 to get your ad in. It is at a special low price that will surprise you.
Time for a joke or this week a reminder.
“You don’t stop having fun because you get old. You get old because you stop having fun.”
That is so true.
Until next week, have fun, and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
