Since Comcast does not carry YES I have not seen many Yankees games this season. I did, however, get to see the weekend games against the Red Sox.
The Yankees need to get rid of Carlos Beltran. He can no longer play the outfield. He can’t run and does not hustle. He is too old or too injured. I probably said this last year, but it seems to get worse every game.
I would rather see Alex Rodriguez play third base and Beltran DH. Chase Headley is not a great third baseman and cannot hit. A-Rod can’t be worse then Beltran.
I’m not convinced having Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardner bat one and two is a good idea. We need one speedster. I would rather have a long ball hitter than two fast guys. Time to get rid of Ellsbury.
Starlin Castro has been the best player on the team. I did not realize he was so good. It was a great job getting him on the team.
The pitching staff seems to be improving, but the relievers are horrible. Dellin Betances seems injured. He does not have it right now.
Manager Joe Girardi needs to stop relying on guys that aren’t playing well.
If the Yankees have any chance when the trade deadline comes, then they need to get a new third baseman, trade Headley, Ellsbury and Beltran.
Beltran is more of a hindrance then help. If no one wants him, he should retire.
The Yankees are known for home runs. This team looks lost.
Losing three to the Red Sox away is no big deal. This weekend the Yanks are home. They need to take at least two games to show their pinstripes.
I do have to say one thing about David Ortiz. He is a good player, but he is no Derek Jeter. Red Sox announcers act like he is a God. Please don’t compare the two.
