Come and enjoy the beautiful and hilly countryside and historic neighborhoods of Kensington by running Kensington Congregational Church’s first Lobster Loop 5K on Saturday, June 11, 2016. This race will start at 8:30 a.m.

The Lobster Loop 5K is Kensington’s only summertime road race and will start and finish at Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Avenue, Kensington.

Come and run the Lobster Loop 5K and then stay and enjoy the annual Festival on the Hill, featuring Lobster rolls and strawberry shortcake and other food, live entertainment and fun for the whole family. According to Mayor Mark Kaczynski, “A 5K will be a great addition to the food festival at Kensington Congregational Church. This added festival will increase the attendance at the popular annual celebration.”

This event is co-sponsored by Powerhouse Gym of Berlin, and Malibu Fitness of Farmington. For many years Powerhouse Gym and Malibu Fitness have been serving the health and fitness needs of thousands of patrons throughout central Connecticut.

Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, along with age category winners. Awards will also be presented to the first overall male and female winners from Berlin/Kensington.

Registration is available online at http://www.kensingtoncong.org/. The Lobster Loop is limited to the first 500 entrants who sign up before June 9th. Early registration (before May 1st) is $20; from May 1st to June 9th the registration fee is $25. There is no race day registration. T-Shirts will be provided to the first 300 entrants and registered runners will receive a free one-month membership to Powerhouse Gym or Malibu Fitness (restrictions may apply). All proceeds will be used to support Kensington Congregational Church’s missions work in the community.
