Art League Of New Britain Wants Artists For Show

The Art League of New Britain wants Artists to submit work for the 12th Annual Spring Juried Exhibition at their Gallery at 30 Cedar St. in New Britain, the second oldest Art League in the country. The Jurors are Rachel Carlson and Claudia Van Nes of Maple and Main Gallery in Chester, Ct. The show will run from Friday, May 13 to Sunday, June 5. There will be an opening reception free and open to the public on Friday, May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.
First prize will be $300 plus a one person exhibit at a mutually agreed upon date , Second prize-$150, Third Prize-$125, Fourth prize- $100 gift certificate from Aardvark Art Studio.
Eligible Artwork: Original, any medium, 2D and 3D. 2D. Artwork must be wired (no hooks) for hanging. Gallery wrapped canvases with painted sides are acceptable provided they are wired in the back. No size restrictions-must fit in the door. Any work not suitable for hanging will not be accepted. 3D. Sculpture 3’ by 3’ footprint maximum; must be under 100 lbs. weight. Please consider entering work not previously exhibited at the Art League. Entry Fees: Members-$10 first entry; $5 each other entry; Non-members-$20 first entry; $10 each other entry. Also a $10 sitter fee will be charged, waived if you sit in a gallery time slot.
