- CJ’s Diner, 70 South St. New Britain- Friendly staff that make you feel at home and hearty helpings makes CJ’s the #1 choice of The New Britain City Journal Facebook group members for breakfast restaurants in 2016. The Restaurant has amazing specials that you must try and serves a fantastic lunch as well. Servings can be large, so come hungry. You can’t go wrong here. Don’t miss this ONE!
- Captain Al’s, 1003 East St. New Britain - If you want a fireman’s breakfast, this is the place to go. Captain Al’s features all of the regulars including omelets and pancakes that are just too big for one person to eat. Order just one Chocolate chip pancake as it is super sweet, super gooey, super big and super delicious. A cozy restaurant with a great staff, who keep your coffee cup filled, gives it high marks.
- New Britain Diner, 1130 Corbin Ave. New Britain - Residents rave it is consistently good, you get your money’s worth and it is fast. There are plenty of seating in this West End gem and portions are very large. They give four generous slices of bacon in a breakfast. It has the best home fries in the City and is a great place to bring the entire family.
- Sahadi’s Hotties, 563 West Main St., New Britain - It is not a sit down restaurant, but the breakfast sandwiches beat all others and the low prices match. Two breakfast sandwiches for $3 and $1 for home fries. You can’t beat the prices or the friendly family staff. Stop by and grab something to go.
- Uncle D’s, 869 Mill St.. Berlin - Berlin’s favorite breakfast spot. “Great” is the word fans of Uncle D’s used to describe this restaurant. Great food, great price, great daily specials and great service. There is a long line on Sunday so come before church. You won’t be disappointed.
- Roma’s, 382 Allen St., New Britain - This place has awesome daily specials like the Home Run. In its special breakfast menu you can have multiple choices of all your favorites for one price. It has a charming atmosphere with a cheerful staff. It just began breakfast a few years ago and already is making a name for itself.
- Josie’s Corner, 166 Mill St., Berlin - Regulars seems to be constantly raving about this restaurants omelets. A friendly staff and good portions had Facebook group members put Josie’s into our top 10. They also offer homemade gluten-free breads available for toast.
- Miss Washington Diner, 10 Washington St., New Britain - An old fashioned atmosphere with tasty food and good prices is why fans choose this diner as a favorite. A friendly staff and quick service makes it a good choice for many. A great place to go if you are in the City center. If not, park in the garage across the street.
- Berlin Fare, 31 Seymour Rd., Berlin - You really have to look in the corner to find this spot. It is small, but very comfortable. A hometown atmosphere as well as it’s thick cut and a generous portion of bacon puts Berlin Fare in the Top 10.
- Even Stephen’s, 797 Farmington Ave., Berlin - This restaurant can be quite crowded on weekends and boasts a delicious home made cornbread. It serves real ham (not sliced round ham) and lots of it. A good meal and reasonably priced.
