It was great to see a New Britain woman named the new superintendent of schools. Women are taking over all aspects of this City and I am loving it.

I can honestly say I never saw so many people so happy at the New Britain High School lecture hall. It seems there is not a person who is unhappy with the selection.

I went to school a few years ago with Nancy Sarra at St. Francs of Assisi and St. Thomas Aquinas. She was sparkling way back then as well.

I remember seeing her a few times when I stopped at Jefferson Elementary to cover something. She was the principal and has always been on top of her game.

I think Sarra will be at the position a long time. I expect nothing but the best from her. As a woman and a fellow “homer”, I am very proud of her accomplishments. I haven’t had the chance to speak with her one on one yet, but Congratulations to her. It is a well deserved honor.

Next week is March. I could not be happier to move onto Spring. The clocks move forward, Easter arrives and all seems brighter in March. February weather was from below zero to 60 degrees. We could use more of those 60 degree days. C’mon Summer!

There still is a lot of talk about the possibility of a new reservoir if Tilcon can use watershed land as a quarry. I’m undecided on how I feel about it. I need more information before making a decision. I love having another reservoir, but let’s see what the opposition brings to the table. I plan to keep an eye on what is or isn’t done with it. Residents who live in the area have a lot of concerns. Everything needs to be addressed. I just hope the final decision is not political.

I’m still looking for groups who want to raise some money. Just let me speak to parents in the group about solar. Anyone who goes solar will help the group get $200. It’s easy and costs the group nothing. Call 860-357-1091.

I found a cute joke on Facebook.

A woman walks into a kitchen and finds her husband swatting flies. She asks him if he killed any?

He says “Yes, 3 males and 2 females”.

She asks him how he can tell them apart.

He replies, “Three were on the beer can and two were on the phone.”

I never thought of that.

Until next week, keep track of your flies and keep reading New Britain’s #1 Most trusted Newspaper!
