The Town of Berlin is pleased to announce that Earl Wicklund was honored for his Stick Village development at the annual CELEBRATE CT! event on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 2 at The Bushnell in Hartford. Earl was one of two developers who were honored from the Central Connecticut region that night. This event is held by the Connecticut Economic Resource Center every year to honor projects throughout Connecticut.

Stick Village, located on Webster Square Road, is a 3.23 acre development that will include six stand-alone office and retail buildings. These six buildings will vary from 2,500 square feet up to 4,200 square feet with a total size of approximately 23,000 square feet. Each building will have its own identity, but each will have similar exterior materials through the complex. This will help incorporate these similar facets to create the “village-feel”. In addition to the exterior of the buildings, the feel will be continued by U-shaped layout that will allow customers to park and easily get into and out of the development.

The 1st tenant in the village is ProNatural Physicians Group, an integrated group of practitioners including naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, APRNs and massage therapists. The new clinic at 120 Webster Square will include more medical modalities and offer more family treatment options including the pediatric practice of Lara O’Neil, APRN.

Dr. Ann Aresco, founder of ProNatural Physicians Group states: “It is time for total integration of medicines. Having preventative medicine and western medicine in the same clinic makes it easier for patients to have access to all types of like minded practitioners working towards the best health care for the individual patient.”

A ribbon cutting will be held Friday, Jan. 8th at 2 p.m. to celebrate the opening of ProNatural Physicians in their new building.

Wicklund Builders is most well-known for projects on Farmington Avenue including the T D Bank building, Average Joe’s Fitness and Park Place. These properties highlight the great businesses on Farmington Avenue including retailers, restaurants, banks and other service firms.

The name Stick Village comes from a story told by the Wicklund Family - a single stick can be broken with some ease, but a bundle of sticks cannot be easily broken, such as one member of a family standing alone is vulnerable versus the strength all of its members together. In the Stick Village, one building can stand alone, but a complex of 6 buildings is not only stronger together but longer-lasting.

“We are so pleased that Earl Wicklund has decided to develop this important parcel in such a creative and forward-thinking way. Stick Village will provide a new home for a number of growing businesses in the center of Connecticut”, stated Economic Development Director Chris Edge.
