If you have an idea for a name of the new baseball team feel free to send it to [email protected] to be entered. This is not a Herald only contest. All our entries from our previous stories were entered.
Its amazing how many stories are fabricated around town these days. The Democratic Party Chairman appears to be the king of many of them involving me. Bah Humbug!
We did not write about Mayoral Candidate Al Mayo but there is an interesting letter about the incident in our letters to the editor section.
It’s obvious by the news that is happening that an election is close. I personally can’t wait until it over. The drama is ridiculous.
Please don’t forget to help us with the Halloween Safe Zone this year. We are still seeking donations and volunteers. Donations can be mailed to us at New Britain City Journal, PO Box 2111, New Britain CT 06050 or dropped off at the Downtown District. All money helps the kids.
Also we still need those willing to take part in Trunk or Treat. Let me know at 860-505-7612 if you can take part.
I am so excited for Halloween and have bought my outfit. It should be a fun night that is all about the kids. It is not political. The costume contest is always great. I expect lots of great outfits. Only the best will win so do it up right.
I will have more information on Halloween next week so be sure to get a copy of that paper as well. The event starts at 3 p.m. this year because it is on a Saturday. It ends at 6 p.m. There will be plenty of surprises.
I attended the informational meeting on making Downtown part of the Historic District. It is a good thing as grants are available for businesses. But, if fixing up a business means it will cost more money then it becomes difficult. Members of the Commission did say being historic would prevent something like Route 72 being built through the City from happening again. I wish we joined 60 years ago.
I found a couple of good jokes on Facebook this week.
“A giraffe’s coffee would be cold by the time it reaches the bottom of it’s neck. Ever think about that?”
LOL
and “Every Halloween I pretend to be the same thing. Not at home!”
Maybe some people do but I obviously love the holiday.
Until next week take time to think about a poor giraffe and keep reading New Britain’s Most Trusted #1 Newspaper!
