City Athlete makes US National Team

On Tuesday July 7th, New Britain resident Ceana Rodriguez competed & represented the State of Connecticut in the 2015 USA Taekwondo National Championships.
Ceana who had already won the ATU Taekwondo National Championships & AAU Taekwondo National Championships on July 2nd, won Gold in both events, made some history of her own by traveling to Austin, Texas to fight and win in the USA Taekwondo (USAT) National Championships.
Ceana is now the USA Taekwondo & American Taekwondo United Team Member. In winning the AAU Taekwondo National Championships, Ceana became the six time AAU Taekwondo National Champion, more prominently by winning the USAT Taekwondo National Championships.
Ceana has become a member of Team USA and will be traveling with Untied States national team to represent the United States in 2015 Pam American Junior Championships in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Ceana will now travel to South Korea this month to represent the United States in the Korea open international taekwondo championships.
Ceana is the only Taekwondo athlete in the history of the state of Connecticut to win the AAU, USAT, ATU Taekwondo National Championships in the same year. USAT is the official Olympic governing body of sport Taekwondo in the United States. Ceana trains at the Olympic Taekwondo Academy, located in Unionville, CT.
