I am so excited with all the new openings in the City. I visited Popeye’s on Sunday. It was slow and the lines were long, but I am sure that will all calm down as it gets going.
Residents love new business in this City. I’m glad to see so many excited about it. All business is welcome.
I will also give Frisbies a try this weekend. We have waited so long for an ice cream store in this City. This one looks to be very good.
It really does seem like a lot of action is taking place everywhere in New Britain. Every time I drive I seem to see something new. It’s time for a change and no one believes more in New Britain than me.
It looks like the political race is starting to heat up. Much information about the election is being released. I’m sure much more is coming.
If you are not a member of our Facebook group you are missing out. People have interesting ideas and comments. It is a must read.
Each week I try to comment on a restaurant, but this week I did not go to any. I did pick-up a lobster roll at McDonald’s. I cannot pass up any chance for lobster. It was actually pretty good (how can you go wrong with that), I wish it came with a side of hot butter. I did like the fact that they give you a piece of lobster claw.
Obviously I did try Popeye’s. I’m not a fan of fried foods, but it was a nice change of pace. The variety of side dishes adds something special. I would like to try them all. I had macaroni and cheese. It was delicious.
Be sure to check out our “Where to Eat” section. Please support those businesses and tell them you saw their ad in this paper. It keeps them advertising which keeps the paper free.
Does it seem cooler this year than usual to you? It has been humid. But, we haven’t hit 100 degrees yet. Not that I am looking forward to it. It just seems weird. I guess it is part of climate change.
Main Street USA is only two months away. This is shaping up to be quite the event. I will keep you updated on progress in the future.
Time for this week’s Facebook joke.
“I don’t know how people get eaten by sharks? Don’t they hear the music?”
I can’t recall one movie having sharks that does not include menacing music. It may not all be “Jaws” music, but it is there.
Until next week, stay away from the sharks (or listen for the music) and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
