Do not miss the great events this weekend. The Klingberg Motor Car Show and the Rose Garden Festival are just two of the amazing activities happening this weekend. Sometimes people say there isn’t much to do around here. Although I think it is a pretty busy place if you just look, these events are must-do’s. They are two of the very best.
Also St. Peter’s has a Strawberry Festival and Holy Cross has their annual bazaar. There is just not enough time for me to hit everything.
Last week’s Lobster and Strawberry Festival on the Hill in Berlin was fantastic. It had great music, great food and good vendors. I hope you went. I talked to a lot of people there. I think it is second, only to the Berlin Fair, in terms of Berlin events. I think they ran out of both strawberries and lobster and had to replenish. Congratulations on the good job Kensington Congregational Church.
I can’t help but mention solar again this week. You would be amazed at the number of people I talk with in New Britain and Berlin who are shocked when I tell them panels are no cost to them. I feel like I am a broken record when I tell them. Many are waiting for a catch. There is no catch. A federal grant helps fund the project and that helps keep panels free. Contact me (860-357-1091) so I can help you save money with the panels. You still pay for the power you use, but at a lower rate than you pay now. It ends at the end of 2016 so don’t wait too long. The sooner you get started, the more you save. Would you rather have expensive dirty energy or cheap clean energy?
I have them and even my mom has them. We get it. Do you?
Also, do not be surprised if one week each month during the summer there is no paper. I am giving the staff a break during the summer as it is slow.
My Facebook joke is not really a joke this week. It is my tribute to Dad’s everywhere on for Father’s Day.
At Age 6: Dad I Love You
At Age 10: Dad Whatever
At Age 16: My Dad is so Annoying
At Age 25: Dad You Were Right
At Age 30: I Want to Go to Dad’s House
At Age 50: I Don’t Want to Lose My Dad
At Age 70: I Would Give Anything for My Dad to be Here With Me
Very sad, but true. Especially for those that have lost their dad.
Until next week, honor your dad and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
