A rollercoaster or a yo-yo – those are words I would use to describe the Yankees so far this season.
The team started off looking awful, but soon they were in first place and played like a champion.
Then they lost 11 out of 13. They came back to sweep the best team in baseball in the Kansas City Royals, They faltered in Oakland and then beat Seattle and King Felix in Seattle.
It’s very hard at this point to predict this team. When they were rolling I was afraid of jinxing them.
I have to say I was not fond of the mustaches. These are the Yankees. We do not need facial hair. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but it is not our style. I am glad to see them go.
I certainly would be upset if they grew too long and looked like the Red Sox. Yuck! I really despise looking grimy. I would rather see handsome faces on my team.
So far this year, who is your Yankee player of the year? I have to go with Mark Teixeira. He has 15 home runs and 39 RBI’s. He leads the team in both those areas. He is only batting .241 but the beginning of a season is usually slow for him.
I am so glad I got him on both my fantasy teams. I got him in the last round as well. He was quite the grab.
Alex Rodriguez has 11 home runs and 27 RBI’s. He has played well. I would not be surprised to see him hit 30 homers this year. It’s easy to forgive a player when they are playing well.
Pitcher Michael Pineda has looked like a stud. He is 7-2 with 76 strikeouts. Why did I forget about him on my fantasy team?
Dellin Betances has a .000 ERA and it is June. He has pitched in 25 games and over 28 innings. As long was we don’t use the Joba Rules, this guy can be the next Mariano Rivera. He is a star in waiting.
Not one Yankee is in line to be on the All-Star game starting team this year. The Royals have most positions wrapped up. Wow! Just Wow!
Get out there and vote. We need to see a few Yankees make the roster.
