For those of you who don’t know, I am a member of the New Britain Lion’s Club. One reason is I have eye problems and love the work they do for this problem.
This week the club held one of my favorite programs in looking at eyes of elementary students. It is the club’s hope that problems can be caught when children are young. Many can be fixed. Never take your eyes for granted. If you have a problem, see a doctor. No one wants to go blind. Never mess with an eye disease.
I’m also happy to report that Spring has shown some life. Why is it 40 degrees in the Spring feels like 60 degrees in the Fall? On Monday I was ready to put my shorts on and get a tan. Give it a few more weeks and I actually may do it.
I want to be sure you all know the next SolarCity seminar is March 26 at Central Pizza in Berlin at 6 p.m. I’ve been hearing a lot of misinformation on solar this past week. We put solar panels on your home at no cost to you through a government grant. You are charged for electricity, but at a lower rate than you pay now. Most people save 30-50 percent on their bills. Every home is different and 1 out of 3 don’t qualify. You need a good safe roof, sun on your roof, a 650 or higher credit score (because you will still have to pay us for electricity) and Internet access (we monitor your panels to make sure they are working).
I suggest you attend the seminar and ask questions rather than listening to people who don’t know what they are talking about. Get the facts and then decide. The worst that can happen is you get a free meal.
With the warmer weather everyone is thinking about their home and outdoors. The sooner you sign-up the sooner you save. You can always call 860-357-1091 for more information.
Enough about solar. How about the Berkowitz building plan? Are you excited? I’m happy to see real progress. I’m so excited for the opening of the CTFastrak on March 28. It’s going to take some time, but I hope it really does bring some life to New Britain.
Time for my Facebook joke of the week.
“I used to wish I could escape reality. Now I wish I could escape reality TV.”
I must admit there are only a few reality TV shows I watch.
Until next week, watch what you watch amd keep reading your #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
