Berlin Utilizing New System

The Berlin Police Department would like to inform residents that the Town of Berlin is now utilizing the Everbridge Non-Emergency Notification System as well as the Connecticut Alert Emergency Notification System (CT Alert).
The Town of Berlin non-emergency alert system will be used for routine non-emergency notifications such as street closings, traffic advisements, parking bans, storm or weather related announcements, locations and status of shelters and warming/cooling centers, town notices, announcements regarding parades and other major town events, water department service issues like water main breaks, public safety announcements, and other important town information.
This system is capable of land-line and cellular phone, text, and e-mail notifications. Some contact information for this system is pulled from the “white and yellow” pages of the phone book but this does not include cell phone or e-mail information. If you want to participate, you must sign up to receive these notifications

Residents will have the option to choose notification by land line, cell phone, home or work e-mail, text message, or any combination of these. All contact information will be used for official purposes only and will be kept strictly confidential and will not be provided to any third party organizations.
The State of Connecticut maintains the registration website for CT Alert (www.ctalert.gov), the statewide emergency notification system enabling Connecticut authorities to communicate critical information to hundreds of thousands of Connecticut residents and businesses before, during and after emergencies.
For Connecticut citizens to sign up your cell phone, fax, home phone or any mobile device to the CT Alert EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM, you must visit the www.ctalert.gov website. The sign up is easy but necessary so you can be notified in the event of any emergency that affects our Town or State.
