Buyer for Berkowitz

This is the second time now we have heard there is a buyer for the Berkowitz Building.
This time it seems there really is interest. Last time was an obvious hoax.
It is great to see some sparks take place in downtown New Britain. We have been saying New Britain is seeing a turnaround for the last six months.
Many do not want to accept it, but much of it is due to CTFastrak. That may end up being the best thing that has happened to this City in the past 50 years.
CTFastrak is expected to open in March. It will certainly help bring more people into downtown.
Business space on the first floor of the Berkowitz will help see more life in the City. It is also a great pathway to Broad Street. It almost seems like Main Street ends at that area. This is a great connector that will keep life flowing down Broad Street and into Main. The developer is also looking at doing things with the parcels of land in the block. It may be apartments. It is another great way to bring people into the City.
The transformation of the Main Street Route 72 bridge will fix the gap leading to that area of the City. The new plans around Central Park will brighten up that area as well.
Yes. All of that really is happening and much of it is happening in the next six months.
In our Facebook group question we saw a lot of great assets of New Britain. It is a City that is finally growing. With a good Mayor, CT Fastrak and many things happening at the right time it will all occur quickly. Change is coming.
The purchase of the Berkowitz building is no longer a fantasy, but just another sign New Britain’s future is bright.
