Mayor Erin E. Stewart has announced a new initiative to recognize New Britain property owners who have beautified or significantly improved their property(s).

“This program is intended to reward both residential and commercial property owners who have demonstrated a commitment to New Britain by taking pride in their properties,” Stewart stated. “It is also intended to incentivize others to do the same.”

“Beautifying and restoring properties becomes contagious and I want residents and businesses to know how much it is appreciated” said Stewart. “Other cities and towns recognize the efforts of property owners in contributing to their town’s overall aesthetic, and I want ours to know how much we appreciate it here in New Britain.”

A committee will be asked to select a business or residence on a bi-monthly basis. Input will be solicited directly from the public, as well as via recommendations by city personnel with direct knowledge of these properties.

If you are aware of any property owner that you consider deserving of the award and wish to recommend them, please contact Bill Carroll at 860-229-1665 or [email protected].
