Editor’s Note 12/19/2014

Here we are one week closer to Christmas. This holiday season is flying by. I am beginning to understand why the season starts earlier each year. I never have enough time to get everything done. I would be happy to think Christmas on Nov. 1.

I hope you sent in your names for our holiday ornament tree. It is only $10. If you still want one, call 860-505-7612 with your credit card number. Each year we put names and businesses with greetings on ornaments in the paper. It is so much fun.

Sometimes we do another with stars around 4th of July. If you enjoy this, then keep on the lookout for that.

What did you think of all the people nominated for New Britain Person of the Year? The New Britain City Journal has listened to the people and chosen Mayor Erin Stewart. There are so many people that are deserving. It is great just to see what residents are thinking. All nominees should be congratulated regardless of how many votes were given.

We want to thank everyone for their input. 2014 has certainly been an interesting year. I’m expecting 2015 to be interesting as well.

It’s cold outside, but I still want everyone to consider going solar. By the time it is on your roof the sun will be shining and you will be saving money. By this time next year I want 1 in every 4 New Britain homes to have free solar panels. The City will soon be showing off its solar panels at the schools. You deserve to have them as well. Take advantage while you can. Call 860-357-1091. I would never steer you wrong.

I haven’t been writing a Pigskin Predictions the last few weeks. It’s a good thing because there really is no clear number one in my eyes. I think anyone who makes the playoffs has a good shot. Someone told me that even the Patriots could win it this year as the New York Giants won’t be in their way. As a Patriot fan that does kind of sting.

People sent me two jokes on Facebook this week that seem to go together.

“A clean house is the sign of a broken computer.”

and

“Dear Santa, Please bring me a self-cleaning house for Christmas this year.”

I’m assuming cleaning the house is a big problem this year. Maybe, it really is all due to computers.

Until next week stop spending so much time on the computer and clean your house and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
